SATO IS BIG IN SONOMA
You see a lot of Danica Patrick merchandise out here. Even though she’s NASCAR-bound after this season, people still seem to be buying her gear, but up here in Northern California, Takuma Sato has a major following.
It seems like the majority of the Danica-gear-wearing fans are under 12 years old, while the Sato fans appear to be women in their 20’s and 30’s. It’s amazing to watch the throng of media from Japan interested in nothing other than Sato and anything he does. It must be nice to be treated like a rock star.

Drivers on the IZOD IndyCar Series continue to be among the most accessible to their fans, always willing to sign autographs and visit with the people who make it all possible. Mario Andretti literally sat there for an hour and signed every last autograph.
